... around till we decided to move to Jekyll Island. We were headed to the pier and as usual I ended up misdirecting everyone and ended up at Jekyll Island Club Hotel. This hotel has been a site for various Hollywood movies and is also a popular wedding destination.
We ended the day in Brunswick at Vikas's Friend house with some excellent Pani Puri and an African Stew.
This place was WILD.
Cumberland Island is located off the shore of Georgia near the GA-FL border.
The ferry (see photos) left for the island left at 9:00 am and took us across the St. Mary River and out to the island. We got to the island around 10:00 where rangers talked to us forever. On the way to the campsite we saw two deer in the ferns (see photo). The animals were not shy.

... We went back into the Georgia countryside, actually taking a route that runs parallel to I-95 so we kept crossing back and forth over the dreaded interstate, but never touched it. Our hotel tonight is in a little town called Darien. We are actually staying close to I-95 again so we ventured into "downtown" Darien for dinner. ... shared a pizza dinner together one night in Jacksonville. Patsy and I found we had a common hobby – shopping – so we explored the Avalon area of the city on Saturday afternoon, then had lunch at a sidewalk restaurant (very citified for a couple of gals on boats!).
Our next stop moving northward on the coast was at Fernandina on the north end of Amelia Island. We docked at the city marina and were able to walk to restaurants ...

When we left (really don’t enjoy Goodbyes), we headed North sticking as much as we could to the coast. We were really following the Spring and the bight greens of the new leaves plus the purple Wisteria and various coloured Azaleas were so incredible to see.
Next proper stop was Savannah (with a night in a Walmart car park in between). ...
