Our plan is to drive as far as we could, on the fastest highways and find a nice cosy roadside inn with a fine dining restaurant that is FAOGCS certified but I'm not holding my breath on that one. The fastest speed limit is 65mph but I've quickly learnt that you need to do at least 75mph or get run over by the millions of semi's on the road. There are plenty of police cars on the highways, usually next to a car they've pulled over so I don't know ...
... couple of road signs that said 'Thickly Settled', which I was mystified by (are they talking about my waistline?) It turns out that it means densely populated and you must not drive more than 30 mph. Who knew?
The end of the day brought us to Mystic, CT. We walked around a bit as the sun was going down, catching some beautiful light and chatting with a road-tripping couple from Seattle. They have a motorhome and are spending a year on the road. I'm envious.
