We will make a quick stop in Lithia Springs, GA, visit friends in Simpsonville, SC and travel on to Habersham- Beaufort, SC. We will finish out the winter there then head north to our camp on Ossipee Lake, NH ...by Mother's Day ...we are missing our children (and grandchildren).

Initially the day was dark and damp but the clouds blew over and the sunshine came out. That made it very pleasant to sit in the bridge. It heats up quite nicely when the sun is out. Bart made a big batch of ginger and banana pancakes so we ate breakfast on the bridge. I know what he will be snacking on for the next few days.

... there were long stretches were we did not pass much in the way of civilization until we approached Decatur, Alabama. It got a little crazy at this point because of increased traffic, a low railroad bridge and some barge traffic. If you aren't aware, Decatur is a huge barge port. Today our original-original plan we had wanted to go to Tishomingo State Park but we wouldn't have gotten there until around 4:30 and still would have had to set up our tent and fix dinner before dark. As it was, we were a bit dismayed when we finally rode up to the Victorian Inn and saw this motel was so remote with an empty parking lot giving us cause for undue alarm!
