We are on the back stretch and reaching for home. Two more blog entries to go. We hit the road this morning at 7:15 and 81 degrees with clear skies and headed for Baton Rouge, the capitol of Louisiana...but you knew that, of course. The drive took us through bayou country with roads raised over the water that go on for miles without relief. Fishermen were in boats below us and who knows who else…maybe my favorite Ax Man, Shelby, looking for sunken ...

Not a whole lot to share for today. We both went to work for most of the day and got on the road about 5 PM for a 4 hour drive to Thomasville, GA, where we spent the night with some friends. We had not seen the NeSmith's in a couple years so it was great to spend some time with them even though it was short. It's incredible how fast kids can start playing with other kids they've never met and act like they've known each other for years in no time at all.

... area partly because of the overall look of everything and the huge number of large yachts and pleasure boats moored or docked in the harbors.

We did not stop in either of these towns but kept motoring along. Our plan was to take the next available road to the I-10 to finish our journey to Tallahassee. The road was under construction for most of the way. It was apparent that they were making the existing 2-lane road into ...

... we have been on in our travels this trip I can honestly say Florida has the smoothest roads so far. Another time change for us. These time changes should not be a surprise as the GPS tells us when there is a time change and of course the clock in the truck changes automatically as well. Some other interesting tidbits for you! o Tallahassee is the Florida State Capitol. o One of the billboard signs reads "Let's Build cities that can take Hurricanes!!!!" OH MY! ...
