We completely jinxed it yesterday by stating we had been lucky with the weather. Rain, rain, rain today. In fact, so much rain that, we suspect, water is coming into the car pushed up through the crack in our wind shield. It will get replaced in the coming week.

We left Gatlinburg, Tennessee this morning, and drove through the middle of ...

Another beautiful morning in the campground... and a walking tour of downtown Asheville. Then the drive across the mountains into central North Carolina on I-40 -- crossed the Eastern Continental Divide and then a six-mile very steep downhill stretch. At Hickory I turned south and drove through the small town of Maiden to ...

... and it was accepted! So, we are now the proud owners of 2411 Eagle Drive, NE, Conover, NC. Hope to build our dream home there, and relocate to ONE home in the future. We are informed that all the duck hooks from the 12th hole will now end up in our martinis, but guess we will have to deal with that. Had dinner with our GREAT friends, Jim and Karen, at Olive Garden. Jim and I have been friends since we were guard and ...
