I made my reservations last summer for 2013 Bike Week. My room was ready and clean when I arrived on 3-10-13.

The room had two queen beds, mini refrigerator, microwave, safe (cost extra to use), coffee maker, and hair dryer. The ice maker was in the lobby.

For the people who know me the hair dryer was not needed (lol). The only amenity I put to use was the refrigerator and it kept the drinks very cold.

The air conditioning and heat both worked fine as well as the shower.

I stayed here in October 2010 for Biketoberfest and I was pleased with my stay then as well.

I would recommend Microtel Inn and Suites at Palm Coast.

... after everyone else's. Just as we were leaving, the heavens opened up. The waitress told us we could keep our table until it stopped. Fortunately, it didn't last long, even though the radar didn't look promising.

Always a favorite pastime with the girls, especially when they have money in their pockets, we roamed the shops of St. George St to do some shopping. You can't have too many T-shirts!

From there the girls wanted to take some photos at the fort, ...

We left Rebounderz and had lunch in St. Augustine. From there we headed south to Ft. Gates to take the ferry across the St. Johns River. It's a small ferry that can carry only two cars. It's nothing spectacular, but it's unusual, and the river is always pretty. We've taken it with the girls on 2 or 3 other occasions, ...

We are just beginning to pack and prepare for the trip. We've been talking about it for so long, and now it's just days away. I can't believe it is finally here! We have lots to get ready, but soon we'll be on our way, with literally nothing more than the clothes on our backs. The thought is so freeing.

Thanks for being interested in the whereabouts of a couple of kids from Florida. We hope you this blog lets you enjoy our adventures right along with ...

... Steak was on the menu, as well as fresh asparagus and our last sweet potato. A bit of cole slaw topped it off.

We heard lots of birds and were told that this is a good birding area, so we'll check that out.

It got down into the forties last night, which was a major change. The sun is rising in the live oaks and palms as I type. We'll be hiking soon. It would be nice if you were with ...
