Then we went to the old fort, Castillo de San Marcos. This was built in 1695 to protect the town from pirate and other attacks. It was never captured by force. It was star shaped with walls constructed of limestone shell that wouldn't crack. And the walls were over 5m thick on the outside. It had a gun deck lined with canons and sentry posts and a mote.
... drove to the fort. It was a big building made out of stone. We went on top and it was a beautiful view but we got sent down because there was thunder and lightening. Then we walked and had a drink.
PS The fort was called Castillo de San Marcos and it's over 300 years ...
... br> We saw lions, tigers, leopards, lynx, wolves, hyenas, bobcats and a porcupine. One jaguar had had a good life with his owner and got left there while his owner went on holiday but he never came back so the jaguar suffers from depression. There were more stories like this. All these animals could be walked on a leash.
We weren't allowed to take photos because it would scare the animals.

Then we went to the St Augustine Wildlife Reserve. It looks after big cats and lions. A lady bought a lynx for a pet but it was too rough and so she kept it in her garage and just threw it some food now and again. So they rescued it and care for it now. We also saw lions, wolves, tigers, black jaguars, white Bengal tigers, a cheetah, some leopards, bobcats and porcupines.
I have awaken at 5 a.m. to prepare for the ride back home. I'm getting all my things together that have not already been packed in my street glide bags.

I made my reservations last summer for 2013 Bike Week. My room was ready and clean when I arrived on 3-10-13.
The room had two queen beds, mini refrigerator, microwave, safe (cost extra to use), coffee maker, and hair dryer. The ice maker was in the lobby.
For the people who know me the hair dryer was not needed (lol). The only amenity I put to use was the refrigerator and it kept the drinks very cold.
The air conditioning and heat both worked fine as well as the shower.
I stayed here in October 2010 for Biketoberfest and I was pleased with my stay then as well.
I would recommend Microtel Inn and Suites at Palm Coast.
