I made my reservations last summer for 2013 Bike Week. My room was ready and clean when I arrived on 3-10-13.

The room had two queen beds, mini refrigerator, microwave, safe (cost extra to use), coffee maker, and hair dryer. The ice maker was in the lobby.

For the people who know me the hair dryer was not needed (lol). The only amenity I put to use was the refrigerator and it kept the drinks very cold.

The air conditioning and heat both worked fine as well as the shower.

I stayed here in October 2010 for Biketoberfest and I was pleased with my stay then as well.

I would recommend Microtel Inn and Suites at Palm Coast.

Last night was a warm night. We haven't had one of those since the summer. It has been getting warmer and more humid everday as we head further south. We got up and cleaned up the bed and ourselves and then headed out to our first spot for exploring in Savannah.

It may seem we have become obsessed with graveyards with all the recent visits, comments and lectures we have attended but really...they are ...

    • Raining all day but supposed to be nice tomorrow.
    • Need to find me a cafe or two!!
    • This place is the oldest town/city in the US.
    • The Fountain of Youth is somewhere around here... that may be fun!!

... not find anywhere busy enough to indicate it was worth eating in on a sat night. We ended up in Tiki bar, where a guy was playing solo live on his acoustic guitar. We ordered bar snacks, breaded mushrooms & onion rings for our tea, obviously with some drinks to accompany them. The sounds were good, we clapped each song, which he appreciated each time. It had been raining hard for a while, but we made most when it eased and left leaving the singer a tip on our exit. ...

... Steak was on the menu, as well as fresh asparagus and our last sweet potato. A bit of cole slaw topped it off.

We heard lots of birds and were told that this is a good birding area, so we'll check that out.

It got down into the forties last night, which was a major change. The sun is rising in the live oaks and palms as I type. We'll be hiking soon. It would be nice if you were with ...
