          ... on the sow. So the ingots were called pigs, or piglets, and the cooled metal in the channel was called the sow.

          One thing that was mentioned at both the Vulcan Museum and the Sloss Furnaces was that limestone was needed as a "flux" for the pig iron process. What did the "flux" do? I learned that here at Sloss! The non-iron residue of the iron ore and coke would pile up as ash in the bottom of the furnace ...

          ... too �� Upon entering Atlanta, we were reminded just how much we despise I-285...probably more so than usual since we've been in relatively low population & traffic areas for a month. Seriously, wildlife (usually bison) was the cause for the worst traffic we've experienced in the past month. Now, we have emptied the truck, taken care of the cat, done the first round of going through the mail, and at least started dealing with getting stuff ...

          ... and applauding started echoing out of the machine! we were looking around stunned and a bit confused. Another bottle popped out, with something attached (CocaCola sunglasses) so we figured, maybe we get by extra. But they continued to give us two more so we all had a coke and sunnies.
