Started our road trip today. We drove out of Dallas towards Jackson, Mississippi stopping along the way for lunch at Catfish Village that serves tradition southern food. We had more than our fill of deep fried EVERYTHING.

We arrived in Jackson and enjoyed a quick self guided tour around the city. We did accidentally find ourselves in the dodgier part of town. Thank goodness for our trusty nav man. ...

The next leg of our journey today after a quick visit to Jackson. I have to say, I'm glad it was only a quick visit. The hotel, situated just outside of Jackson, was not really one of the best we've stayed at, not uncomfortable, but none the less, not great. She lay at the bottom of the Yazoo River (just off the Mississippi) from 1863 to the mid ...

... it was a nice, quick stop bringing our total National Park Sites visited together to 92 (our first was in April 2009)! From there, we drove to Canton, MS for yet another Hampton Inn. We (especially Grant) are really hoping for Bagel Toppers for breakfast tomorrow. The Hampton breakfast options are generally pretty good (though definitely not the cooked to order options at Hilton Garden Inn), but the Bagel Toppers are always the preferred ...

    The Night Before

... is 3 months into being 7 and Disney, to me, is nothing but an international human zoo that I would love to eternally avoid. What better trip to plan in its place than a camper drive to the least person per square mile state in the lower 48 of America. I am glad the family went for it. No Disney this year makes Daddy a happy camper. I wonder what I will pull off next year to nix Disney ...
