The hike up Tanalian Mt in Lake Clark was a 10 mile round trip with an elevation gain of 3,700 feet and the day we did it, we hiked through and then above the cloud layer until we reached the top when the clouds broke up to reveal breathtaking views in all directions. In Yosemite, we hiked the Clouds Rest trail, a 14.5 mile round trip with an elevation gain of about 1,800 feet. Both of these hikes were very strenuous but extremely rewarding.
