More of this tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow. Somebody famous said that didn't they?
Photos for this section of the blog are from Michael's wanderings. Joy's doggies are going up all on their own!

Well there they all are....on every street corner...in nearly every cafe...even in the clothes shops. Petit and dainty clothed in fancy coats or little pyjama suits, big and butch, long and lanky, large and hairy, dazzling with diamante, lush with leather. Yes...they are Parma's dogs. ... towns too. The shops have Florence level prices, but there is little evidence of this sort of prosperity and the style that it can afford.

Now we appreciate of course that we have only been here 48 hours. Many would say that we have no right to make such conclusions on such a short stay, and certainly these are only first impressions, not second thoughts. Parma has indeed much commend it. Some fantastic art in the galleries and churches, ...

      Into the hills

... in the road, but all I saw was more mountains. Up and down. Up and down.....

Up and down, and the sun was starting to set. I'd been in the hills for a few hours and I had no idea how close I was to the coast.
I wasn't close at all. The sun went down and it was dark. I had come off the SS12 and somehow ended up on the SS324, an even smaller road with less people and villages. I had no cash and I was running out of petrol. I switched to ...
