    ... the best of the lot, it's still pretty sub-standard in comparison to the other offerings in Cyprus ... grey, hard-packed sand with murky-looking waters, these aren't the kinds of beaches the Cypriot tourist board wants to advertise in its brochures. Having said that, if you all you want is a quick sun tan and subsequent dip in the sea afterward to cool off, I suppose it's not the worst place to be.

    ... and nuts from a stall in a square. We were intrigued by rows of long, knotty, candle-like sweets hanging from the awning and stacked on the table. Through broken English and lots of gesturing, we discovered they were a Cyprus speciality called soushoukou (Google helped us later get the name right) - strings of almonds dipped like candlesticks in a vat of grape molasses and rose water. We have been munching on a stick of it throughout the day...and will probably go back for some more ...

    ... room this time. It was spotlessly clean just as I expected it to be. I could not believe my eyes seeing the iron in the wardrobe! I came across 4* & 5* hotels that don't provide this facility. There is a safe and a little fridge and also a kettle with 2 sachets of coffee and milk –no tea though…but still this facility is truly appreciated. The bed was quite comfortable as well. Limited Channels on TV but it was ok. The double glazed windows ...
