Greetings, still from San Antonio;
Yesterday was a quiet day. Our only real activity was to go visit The Alamo. Walking inside the museum was very reminiscent of many of the Churches we have visited in Italy. There is a sense of quiet and reverence about what happened there. It was a moving experience. Pictures are not allowed in the museum but I did snap one of the outside.
... and they say Florida is hot!
Before I forget, let me tell you about our last dinner in New Orleans. We ate at John Besh's place Domenica, which is Italian for Sunday. It was a really authentic Italian trattoria, very informal and family friendly. The most memorable dishes we had were a pizza that we shared, with tomato and spicy salumi and an antipasto plate with meats and cheese. The pizza could have been made in Italy and brought to New ...
Today we took a more relaxed morning and stayed in the waterpark near our room all day while the Kelly's met up with friends at the other park to do some of the more intense slides. We started the day at the wave pool all together and then convinced Brynn to ride the Falls river ride back to the other side of the park where we enjoyed the Alligator river for a log while. ... Holly rode it first. Great ride! We did all three tower rides and then picked up Brynn to drive over to the other park where we spent the day. The older park is more river-like and the rides are more advanced. It was a nice, long day followed by a great dinner in nearby Gruene st the Gristmill Restaurant. We all slept ...
... Couldn’t really work out what was going on, but saw a few people on horses rounding cows, then one would separate a few cows and then just keep one encircled with the other horse riders, kind of chasing to keep it penned in. It didn’t look very nice to the poor cow.
Finally we found the proper stock show area. We walked around looking at goats and pigs, then found a grandstand around a pen where kids and teenagers walked around herding a pig ...
