Dietmar offered us tickets to a local handball tournament. He is also a member of a local shooting club and invited me to come shoot with him on Saturday. I am not so interested in handball but I think I might like to go to the shooting range.

The tour was great and very informative but the best part was at the end. Food and beer awaited us in a special pub nearby. You could eat and drink to your heart's content for about two hours.

We were eventually joined by some local teens who were somehow amazed that I had heard of The Simpsons and Two and a Half Men. Funniest question: "You know who Charlie Sheen is? Is he famous in America?

What should have been a two-and-a-half hour road trip to Kreuztal became three or more hours with all the construction at various places on the Autobahn. After being constantly berated by our German GPS unit for taking side roads to get around the construction, we finally made it to Kreuztal.

Day 21: Travelled to cologne where the Sturmats were at the train station to meet me. In erster Linie haben wir diesen Blog fuer uns geschrieben, weil es am Ende nach so vielen Eindruecken doch schwer faellt sich an Dinge vom Anfang und Einzelheiten zu errinnern. So one year had come to an end now and I'm back in Germany. It was only 3 more months to finish year 12 in AUstralia and graduate with an Australian degree, so I took my flight home and decided to book a new ticket back to Australia, to finish what I had started. But first there was catching up to be done at home.
