... and the homes of the friends that gave Twain the inspiration for beloved characters Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher. We enjoyed two different Mark Twain museums, one of which had interactive exhibits that the kids enjoyed and a Norman Rockwell exhibit upstairs.

... I am not at all afraid of them, it is a little disconcerting when you look up on your RV ceiling at night and have no less than 100 mosquitos swarming around. ... us via the highway, we decided to take a small road that runs parallel to the Mississippi River called the Great River Road. Unfortunately the Great River road wasn't so great; there were a few parts when we saw the Mississippi, otherwise we just saw corn fields and followed train tracks the whole way. We were on the Missouri side and there is also a Great River Road on the Illinois side, so maybe that one is more scenic? ...
