... maybe next time. We got to camp around 5pm and settled in, we pretty much had the place to ourselves, it was very quiet. As we arrived, the RV was attacked by gigantic horse flies, then I didn't feel so bad about not stopping for those attractions earlier because we just saw the world's largest horse fly! ... hours. Of singing Annie songs, continuously. We settled into our hotel and dinner time and I took the girls swimming while Carrie went out and picked up some southern barbecue - yum! It was a long day but fun with lots of laughter and songs! I wish I had videoed Phoebe singing "Little Girls" she does a mean Ms. Hannagian. Pricey bratwurst

... 120 extra miles and spent $100 for nothing. Boy, that bratwurst was expensive.

Finally got past Columbia late on the 9th and was able to stop along the Katy Trail in Rocheport. The trail just east of Rocheport is one of the most scenic stretches with high sandstone bluffs on the one side and the Missouri river right along the other side of the trail. With the river still in flood stage there were places where the water was only 2-3 feet ...

... 36. In less than an hour down the road, the terrain is as flat as can be. Such a change!

Beltway around Denver had no traffic and we got on Route 70 East at 7 AM- the highway that we will be on the rest of the trip!

7:20 AM - quick coffee, restroom stop.
Eastern Colorado is very flat, open farmland. Many windmills.
