... leftover burgers with some green beans I had bought from camp shop and some of a huge portion of frites from restaurant! Not so healthy but finished with an apple - is that compensation? So why, when in Southern Spain, would anyone want to make a trip to Iceland? Well, apparently it's the only one in this part of the world, so worth a visit! Hmm . . Wanted a bag of salad. Choice? Plastic bag of still growing leaves from Lincolnshire. 2.50 euros. No thanks . A very relaxing day at the luxury apartment ! The Scotts all went to Almeira on a business trip and I enjoyed doing very little except chill on the veranda and read. No complaints there! In the evening we enjoyed one of Pete's speciality BBQ s with all the trimmings from Al. No one driving so no problems about alcohol consumption. To be fair the only problem we have is ...

Pete and Al have reconnoitred an Anglican church about half an hours drive away with a lady minister, statues of our lady, a friendly English congregation and the preacher who has a daughter that taught at Turi in 1989 in the brand new senior school as the very first 'head of English. So must be worth a visit! A drive up into the hills and the  church of  San Pasqual is perched on the top of a hill with Eucharist at 11 o'clock. Got there ...

Our restaurant for dinner was perched on top of a building giving spectacular views across the plains below and the coastal towns way, way below. A memorable meal in a memorable setting with memorable company! Pete has discovered a drinkable local beer called, appropriately, 'zero-zero' which means he nobly does the driving!

So another day draws to an end with a brandy on Al and Pete's terrace before sleep.
