We shared a taxi with two young women from Canada and were able to take them to the Burj as they were running late for their reservation - they were very appreciative. At 10.45am it was time for us to go to the top of the Burj - this is the tallest building in the world, being 824 metres. It was ...

Our layover in Dubai was long enough to take a tour and a nap before departing to Johannesburg. It was night time so it was hard to see everything, but the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa, was absolutely beautiful lit up at night. We also had time to stop at the mall that happens to be the biggest mall in the world. We did not have time to walk the entire thing and most shops were closed but that is a place I would definitely want to return to and do some damage! ...
