On arrival we were met by Dave who kindly picked us up and took us to the Sheikh Zayed road where his dad lives and we stayed in his 46th floor apartment there which had a great view of the Burj Al Arab. The next morning we went to Tom and Serg a popular breakfast hangout not dissimilar to the East London style where your drinks seem to be served in jam jars! The breakfast was great and we got on our way to spend the day sightseeing in Dubai. A visit to the beach to ...

... quiet and calm compared the the rest do the mall. We sat and contemplated what we would want if we did own that oil well and decided that we are doing just fine as we are. The shopping was great. It is a place with lots of interesting things over and above the shopping, even aquarium. Every women would like this place. In a rare experience I helped Gayle go to shopping for pants, the choices were impressive. What is even more rare is for me to enter ...

... t really figured out how to get back to our hotel. I had read that finding a taxi is impossible and getting the metro is a nightmare on NYE so as our hotel was about 30 minutes car journey away we decided to walk towards a metro station but hope a taxi would drive by first. After walking up a main road for a short while we spotted a taxi filling up in a petrol station and he was more than happy for our business. It took over 1hr 30mins to get back. On the way we drove ...
