... the bed super hard though.
Monday July 7th. We decided that we would go to the zoo which is advertised as the best in Colombia. It was certainly a nice few hours spent there. It has a small aquarium, aviaries, butterfly enclosure and monkeys, cats and llamas. The focus on Colombian animals was great for us to see. We were surprised to see construction in progress for a dedicated Australian set of exhibits including ...

It looked like it would be about a 5 minute car ride, but was much longer than anticipated, so I hope we didn't offend our taxi driver when we scoffed at his initial price of 20,000 pasos/$10 to take us up there. ... of them but they are just so quick. We started heading back to the starting point of the trek, and made it back around 4 hours after we started. We both really enjoyed navigating ourselves through the jungle and the amazing scenery we saw while doing it. We also enjoyed pretending we where in Lost haha. We had definitely worked up an appetite so we had a large dinner, a hot shower and practically KO'd when we got back to the hostel. Probably the earliest I've went to bed since I was a ...

... of mountains on either side, with some peaks reaching over 5000metres. We continued on for a while longer before stopping for a second desayuno, however when it arrived the meal was huge and was more like a large lunch than a breakfast. There were eggs, sausage, rice, beans, pork, minced beef, a banana and a large juice; it kept us fuelled for the rest of the day.

As we cycled through the agricultural lowlands, with cows and crops on both sides, ...
