... gothic but has been painted light blue, and as you get closer is actually very quaint. So far the churches in Colombia are not as excessively decorated as those everywhere else in South America and this one is no exception. For lunch we found a lady selling a roasted pig stuffed with rice and beans. It doesn't look so appetising when you see the whole pig cut open but it's very tasty. After a bit of a walk around the city we headed home to enjoy a couple of beers on ...

Well my Chilean pals thought it was acceptable to sleep in the draughty, poky station along with some hobos for six hours. The boys kept watch which was reassuring. Stray dogs wandered in and out and a homeless man periodically jumped up from his bed across 2 plastic seats, startled, looked around and settled back down. I was wrapped in every layer I could, still chilly due to it being nigh ...

... flag, sitting on a horse, he was trampling on top of a black man. It was a terrible display of the reality of the Spanish conquest, especially here in Cali, where the population is dominated by African Americans. We continued on to the oldest Spanish cathedral in town, which was made into a museum. Here we saw very interesting architecture, artwork and sculptures, including a goblet made of gold; there are only two of these in the world. Made ...
