... didn't realize I was on the one that is 3 meters high... Well, I realized pretty quickly, first in midair, and then when I tried running. To be fair, I did run about 50 feet (thanks to adrenaline) but I stopped to alert a couple that there is a man with a knife. When I stopped, the pain and the shock set it. I was shivering, couldn't stand up or walk, and was having trouble talking. On the bright side, once we ran, the robber didn't think to chase us so I was lucky ...

... to embrace dancing...a lot!!!     Over the 5 days I was there. I partied every single night in local places like Tin Tin Deo or La Topa, then heading to Menga after midnight for the salsotecas, and partying there until 6am! I was sure one guy was about to get he's head ...

... reached the top and didn’t really have any view but my lasting memory will definitely be feeling the static in my hair as it raised up and the buzzing noises in my ear! There was a nice summit sign on top of the mountain but I could hear it literally buzzing from the storm and lightning was imminent! It was pretty weird and a little scary but I managed to get down and lie on the floor before any lightning hit and then a bolt came down about 100m away! Zap! With no view and ...

Cali is our first stop in Colombia. It's about 11 hours' bus ride from the Ecuadorian border, once in the country, we take another night bus to arrive early morning. We had looked up hostels in the Lonely Planet book, but couldn't find them so we had to stay at the place the cab driver took us to, Javita's. it turned out to be a cute place with a lot of open air, free yoga and salsa classes and some fun travelers coming through. However, it was under construction which added to ...
