    ... br> Bern is built on the cliff edge banks of a wonderful wide river and many bridges have been built high above the river from cliff top to cliff top. Of course we crossed these bridges a few times and got some magnificent photos as we went.

For one reason or another, it didn't work out to stay with anyone else until now, but what we found is that even if people had to decline us, their replies to us were so kind and often they were apologetic for not being able to accommodate us. There seems to be a real sense of community between Couchsurfers.
