Charming Hotel
Breathtaking views from this charming hotel. Excellent location allowed us easy access to everything we needed. Staff was knowledgable and very helpful. Great value for the price.
Great service and family hotel
had 5 days recently at this lake side hotel and the service daily from all of the staff excellent whch added to this unique location overlooking the lake.
not only was the hotal and staff friendly but also the catering staff and so with the good location for trains transport and the local shops and facilitie then this is a place to go not just in the summer but out of that season as we did. good base for exploring other areas and even wothout a csar the good value trains and buses make it good as well
As I say not a large hotel but a relatively small family facilty with the benefits that you would expect
Enjoyable Experience
A fantastic location overlooking the lake and close to the charming town. We stayed for a short break in beautiful late winter days and the hotel provided a great base for seeing this magnificent area. The hotel itself has undergone some renovation and was exceedingly good value.
The catering staff were excellent and went out of their way to be helpful and attentive.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! This is a dump.
I just returned a week ago from 2 weeks in Italy and this hotel was the worst!! It's rated as a 4 star hotel, and should be a 2 star. The rooms were tiny and very poorly furnished. Our bathroom did not have a shower, only a hand held shower wand in the tiniest bathtub you've ever seen...and not even a shower curtain around it. Taking a shower meant the floor was totally soaked and a real hazard. We had a "view" of an alley, and the rates were not cheap. Other guests that we chatted with over breakfast were also complaining and said they were going to write letters of complaint when they returned home. One of the comments heard several times, was that the people on the desk acted like you were bothering them if you asked a simple question. I've stayed in a Motel 6 that was more comfortable.
Good value
This hotel has a great location, right on the lake front and next to the main square, Piazza Cavour. Try booking through the consolidator website, www.supranational.com We saved 40% on the rate the hotel was asking. Rooms are rather dated but clean and reasonably spacious. Ask for a balcony - it's lovely to sit outside and watch the activity on the lake. For the price, this hotel is recommended.
Do Not Stay Here
While the hotel itself is nice, and location is great, I would not recommend this hotel. The maid and housekeeping staff are thieves. On Saturday, May 27, 2003, my spouse accidentally left a diamond and sapphire ring in the bathroom after a shower and getting dressed for the day. We discovered this after leaving the hotel for the day, and when we returned the ring was gone. Yes, it should have been either worn, or locked up in the safe, but it was accidentally left out in a rush to get to a scheduled tour departure. The staff and management did absolutely nothing to try to find the culprit of the crime, only blaming us for leaving the ring out on the bathroom counter. Other than that, the hotel was wonderful, but based upon this experience, I would not return to this facility.

Lake Como and Bellagio
When we left Milan, the north was shrouded in clouds - mist covered the city, we could not even see the Duomo, whose bells tolled sonorously. Taking the short trip north to Como was welcome relief, and the town was beautiful and sedate, dangling its fingers languidly in the vast expanse of Lake Como before it. We sidled down to the waterfront, and …

Brian and I woke up nice and early on Easter Sunday to go to mass like good Catholic boys. Down the street from our hotel there was a big church that completely filled to the brim with devout Italians. The mass was in Italian of course so it was nearly impossible for us to understand but it was the fact that we went that counted. We said our …
