If only the restaurant food was half as good as his attitude.

After a disappointing meal and a failure to find anything worth watching on tv my day ended by 9:00 pm.

Ten hours later (!!) my Sunday started. Decided to splurge on the breakfast buffet and treat it as my "Sunday brunch". Once again, the food was nothing to write home about but...there were people! The hotel wasn't deserted after all.

... you have the old buildings of the VOC ( the united east indian company) is the english translation. This an old dutch company going back to the early 1700's. Indonesia used to be a dutch and british colonie. You can see many of the old colonial buildings in and around Jakarta. The next part of the visit was a trip to the port itself. ... cultures that live on the multiple islands that make up Indonesia. I believe that about 26 different areas are represented in the park. Each has the typical housing that would be found there and sometimes the traditional ceremonial dresses or other community items would be on display. Among the different communities represented there are also multiple museums, bird parks and a water park. We spent about five hours there but could have stayed a lot longer.
