Arriving in Phuket

We arrived half asleep and dazed in Phuket. We decided to catch an overnight coach down to Phuket Town where we had prebooked accommodation. We left Bangkok at 5.30 and began our journey 10 minutes late. There were later coaches to Phuket and we would recommend for future travels to use the latest bus as this would get you in for around 9am instead of 6am! The VIP bus was complete luxury - complimentary drinks and food, sofa like chairs that fully recline with blanket and pillow as well as a ...

... feel very lucky. It is still very fresh in the minds of the people, we talked to one lad who lost both parents that day, he found it hard to not break down whilst he retold us his story, very sad. The rest of the evening we scoped out the rest of the bars in anticipation for future nights!

I hit the sack around midnight, hoping a good nights sleep would rid me of the wisdom tooth pain I had been suffering all day! Jacque partied on until 4 am! The first of many heavy ...

A large slice of heaven

... boat was against the current and quite an effort. As Nancy and Deidre were taking off their flippers and about to climb back on board a small sea snake swam up to them Deidre was a little startled. Once aboard we set off to camel rock passing the cliffs where the Swiftlet's nest, you could see the ropes hanging down used to access the cliffs and harvest the nests. There was a small bay ( Nui Bay) opposite camel rock where we moored, being on more on the south west end of PHI PHI and the ...

Last leg of journey - South East Asia

Hello,
We have now hit South East Asia the final leg of our journey. We had both been through Singapore before so only spent a day there, staying in Little India. We caught the cable car over to Sentosa Island, it was the highest cable car I have ever been on - it left from the 15 storey of a building and went out over the sea - very scary. The island was really nice, with lots of man made beaches and look outs and made enormous statues everywhere. We ate ...

Ao nang

... was setting we headed more down river to an area where there were loads of little waders; whimbrels, greenshanks, plovers, sanderlings and egrets. We watched the sun go down in the boat and it was beautiful. Then we slowly headed back to Krabi town and caught the crazy bus back to our hotel and had a quick Pad thai from a restaurant on a moped and an ice cream for dinner. And now ...... sleep zzzzzzzz love you and miss you all. We think about you all the time xxxx

Railay

... We also paid a visit to the gorgeous Hat Phra Nang beach and the Tham Phra Nang (Princess Cave) on the southern end of the beach, where people come to pray to have babies and bribe the gods with wooden penises and other objects. Surrounded by high limestone cliffs, Railay is one of the world top destinations for rock climbing, so we were also thinking the ultimate question in Railay - to climb or not to climb - and due to a really bad weather and Eva's fear of hights, we ...

... but the shower is horrible. About 5 sprays come out of the clogged up shower head. We have a very nice pool at the resort. After settling in the room, Zoe went to the pool, while I had a short nap. After my nap I joined Zoe by the pool. It was super hot outside, so we didn't want to over do it in the sun. We walked over to Railay East to see if we could get some cheaper food. We really didn't find any ...

Beach holiday before returning to reality

There is certain sadness to this place. Simon says I am just being hyper sensitive but looking at the Andaman sea or eating breakfast at the newly decorated hotel makes me feel sad for those who lost their lives or loved ones in the 2004 tsunami. Emergency towers and tsunami evacuation routes are marked up clearly everywhere, so please do not to worry! The amount of couples consisting of a Western (older, obese) man and a gorgeous Asian woman is even higher here than in ...

Entering Paradise

... the throttle and the bike flys forward and I almost crash it right there. I was extremely terrified bringing it on the MAIN ROADS, especially after seeing the way people drive. Luckily, the roads were clear because it was night, and we could afford to go slow and take our time learning how the hell to drive one of these things. While driving, I see what I think is an open parking lot, and we drive up to it to practice driving. We then hear ...
