Final day of riding; today we rode to Arbon for the conclusion of the trip. Today was hot and sunny; the ride was level and beautiful, following the Rhine for part of the way, then along the Lake. The bike path went through horse country, forested areas with plenty of shade, and through small towns. Lunch was in a church yard near Widn; there were …

... least now we know we can make her get wet from time to time. Unfortunately Caramobil don't sell ventilators! I emailed the first two Austrian sites to book us in. It is clearly somewhere to bring the kids after school (just about the time we turned up!). What a great place.

... Bob got through all of his, but I got a "doggy bag", and finished mine for afternoon tea. Delicious! It was then time for sad goodbyes to our new friends, David and Jenny, Linda and Ian, Yvonne and Renata, Jean and Guy, Lynne and Jo, and of course Patrick and Maree and Anja. Jim and Ann, like us were staying in Feldkirch tonight, and both Patrick and Anja took us back to Hotel Barens, so we got to say a ...

    Last Hike

... hotel - not a long hike but very pleasant. With rain just starting to fall when we got back, we decided not to go to the high ropes course that was on offer for the afternoon (it got rained out anyway). Later in the afternoon Bob did get a chance to go and visit the Biomass Water Heating facility that heated all the water for 21 properties in the valley. It was a 1 megawatt unit that used wood chips made of waste timber in the valley at a cost of 30 euros ...
