Got packed & had early breakfast, left hotel by 8.30am nice & quiet getting to water bus got our tickets and got straight on water bus, only took us 10 mins to get to Train Station. ... bright and comfortable but not hot. There were lots of people around but no unmanageable crowds. Good time to come.

We dodged the Doges and simply walked and rode the vaporettis ( water taxis) around the city and through all the neighbourhoods. Mike said he thought perhaps they designed the city based on a hotel he was in in Las Vegas.

... I'm so happy it´s beyond belief. We headed to our hotel and dropped off our bags then walked around Venice till we found a place that we could eat. We ordered 2 pizza's with some typical summer orange drink. They charged a service fee and table fee it was a bit ridiculous. Venice also has a separate city tax of 2 euros. It´s madness.
