If it’s going to rain anywhere during a month in Italy, Venice should be, and is, the spot. Wet pavements capture the light and reflect the scenes in a special way.

St.Mark’s Square is better seen on our rainy day; tourists and pigeons take over

Highlights of the tour included doge palace, the main cathedral, the clock tower, the opera house, the main canal / Rialto bridge / a lesson in architecture, and a cool staircase. She made several dog friends including another German Shorthair that was even smaller than Shelby with the same coloring. Piper made lots of two-legged friends as well because everyone kept stopping to pet her.

It was a big day, and she slept for most of the train ride home. The best way to see Piper's day is through all the pictures, so ...
