Got on a Eurostar (fast train) in Rome for our trip to Switzerland. I was rather looking forward to it as I have never been on one before. We had seats allocated and the train was packed to capacity. For a journey of 580 Km to Milan with stops in Florence and Bologna we had 3 hours 15 minutes allocated, not bad when you think. ... can be cool, then there's the Swiss answer to the outdoor waterslide. As far as 'roughing it' goes, this one is simple, all you have to do is jump into a mountain river. Simple, right? That's what we thought too. We stumbled across this attraction as we were walking to our campsite in Bern and we suddenly found ourselves in the middle of a parade of people in their bathing suits. There were dozens of them, walking along the river path in nothing more ...

... could be anywhere from 4-9 Euro. In Switzerland it was 18 franks. Which is still almost 16 euro. It was nuts how expensive everything was. But we got lucky and found someone who hosted us there too. So we lived with her and her family for a week and it was amazing.

We get there and our host told us she was going to Barcelona for the week for vacation. And her parents don’t really speak English. So it was going to be an interesting week. But they ...
