Got in the car and started heading north for Switzerland. Before the border we bought a vignette (sticker for Autobahn) and filled the tank up as the fuel in Switzerland is dearer, like everything else. ... have been moved to a more modern open enclosure although the old pit is still there as a monument. The bears now have access to the river as well as a large grassed area.
Our walk up the hill to the Rose Garden was quite exhausting but well worth the effort. The views of the old city and the river are magnificent. Besides the views the flowers in this garden are beautiful, although there were not many roses due to the season. An excellent city and well worth the visit.
