Newcastle was a bit sad, there are alot of shops in the city centre all shut up. The metro centre is getting older as well. But the country side is lovely and the city still parties ******* a Friday and Sat night.

Ferry is definitely the way to go to Europe (saves that long drive South plus cost of fuel) providing you can go out of season and early in the week (price doubles nearer Friday)
