... had to endure both the second & first grade matches but thankfully the weather was absolutely beautiful. With the second grade drawing in extra time I was thrown of as an impact sub, pushed the game to penalties with an assist for a goal in a game that finished 1-1 before missing my penalty in the shoot out...not ideal. It wasn't the best preparation for our actually game either, playing the team that we beat 7-6 a few weeks back we needed to be on form. ...

... across the harbour and a cable car before we reached Taronga Zoo. The zoo, with amazing views of Sydney over the harbour, was huge and it took us over four hours to look around it all. We saw all the standard zoo animals: tigers, lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, penguins etc but there were also plenty of Australian animals on show like koala bears, wallabies and dingos. ... no sign of getting any more serious. Once you get used to it (and some don't) you walk along the rim as darkness falls to where the nighttime spectacle happens. Being in Vanuatu, safety is paramount so we each had a bright yellow raincoat and a torch.......I set myself up with my camera and tried to remember to press the shutter as I was awed by the raw power of nature.

... up because they ask if anyone is over 16 & then getting the senior discount because they actually said 60 and your grey hair was convincing. - the blend of new and old architecture is spectacular and almost seamless. They make great attempts to preserve historic buildings and re-purpose them instead of demolishing & re-building - very clean city, lots of trees and green spaces - really nice, friendly people in this ...

Alright, now back to today. We took a tour bus to see the Blue Mountains of the Great Dividing Mountain Range. They are located about 2 hrs west of Sydney. On our ride out our bus driver, Bad Benny, gave us some history about the Blue Mountains, Sydney, and Australia in general.
