... Da wir den WiFi-Code schon bekommen haben, werfen wir das iPhone an und checken mal schnell, was es so noch gibt. Leider ist das sehr muehsam, und da es schon so spaet ist, kann man erst ab dem naechsten Tag online buchen. Vom letzten Besuch weiss ich, dass am Hauptbahnhof ein YHA ist, das ist garantierte Qualitaet fuer Backpacker - also auf dahin!

Der Angestellte an der Rezeption ist super nett und hilft uns, wo er nur kann, kann uns aber nur aufgeteilte ...

... beginning of the second leg
from Sydney to Singapore. (there is a third leg as well - from Singapore to Hong
Kong via three stops in Viet Nam). The ship holds 2200 passengers and there about
300-400 of us who are termed 'back-to-backers'. It is a bit of an inconvenience
as we have to repack and switch room - from 7071 on Deck 7 to 2009 on Deck 2. No
change in room grade although Monica claims this new room is a touch smaller. The
crew ...

... get to the airport - those screens that tell you where the hell you have to be in this rat race, and at what time. Having had what I consider to be a privileged upbringing, I'm well versed in airports..so after checking in, I quickly located the nearest British restaurant and asked the Polish maitre D' if they were serving a selection of roast dinners. Needless to say, she didn't know her ******** from her ear hole and just sort of blankly nodded and ushered me ...

... we may have been able to get a better deal... silly. I called today to check all of our flights were still on track and found out that the agent hadn't even booked our seats! So now of course we are stuck without a window seat on the way over.. managed to get one on the way back thought. Also they hadnt confirmed the vegetarian meal for me.

Oh well - live and learn!

Es ist 23:30 als ich tot ins Bett falle. Ich bin echt froh, denn ich habe mein einziges Handtuch, was Antonia für mich mitgewaschen hat wieder. Es war zwischenzeitlich weg, weil jemand ihre Sachen aus der Maschine genommen hatte und mein Handtuch, das ich zum Duschen etc brauche, vermutlich drin geblieben ist. Außerdem ist es nebenan im Zimmer bei den Engländerinnen im Zimmer wieder verdammt laut. So gut, dass ich mich damit nicht noch eine Nacht rumschlagen ...
