... mean it was refreshing but I couldn't stay in for more than 5mins because I got cold and had to get out. Most times on a hot day when you jump in a pool to cool off the water is lukewarm and not even really refreshing so I don't know how they kept it cold, but it was good. We kept jumping in to cool off, then laying in the sun to get hot before hopping in again... Our campground is literally in the middle of nowhere off the side of the freeway so it's nice and quiet, I really like ...
... after Kingman the temps climbed to 103 & I called it quits early in Needles. Boo. Stopped briefly in Williams, just to make sure that Goldie's Rte 66 Diner was still going (it was).
Oh, well, tomorrow I'll get out of the Mojave area early before the heat & the coast is cooler.
... both because of the storm I wrote about earlier. I chose to be cooked alive instead, then when I really couldn't get more, I made friends with the air-conditioned apartment.
I'm beginning to grow used to and even to like American road traffic. There are a handful of peculiar traffic rules but I think I could cope with it if I lived here. If only they learned to use the turn signal!!! I was worried about the intersections with four stop signs but it looks like ...
... heading west on the famous Route 66.
Awesome scenery and a well utilised railway network. Often four engines hauling some very long trains. Indian reservations scattered along the way.
Oh dear, this sounds rather hurried, doesn't it.
With so much to organise for our journey home this will be the last of our stories until we do a wrap up when we reach Christchurch. A Boys Blog too.

... in nearby Chinle, they asked us if we had a reservation!! after emptying the car, and having a cuppa we took a drive around the North rim to Massacre and Mummy Cave overlooks, just as the sun was setting.
Wow again! But did you notice the snow! Now you know why we aren't camping.
