... we did in fact stop relatively regularly but more due to the reliable unreliability of the Royal Enfields. Nostalgia aside, these are **** bikes. One of the group of 3 Indians seemed to have brought one from the army as that's what it says on the number plate. ... world election. We guessed that maybe due to the elections the buses weren't running as they were needed to ferry people from villages but who knows? India isn't easy at times... ... There was just too much haze and no snow capped peaks around Srinagar.

Today's Journey was to Katra as our first destination was Vaishnodevi Temple. What followed was a 8hrs long journey in a sharing taxi which was very tiring as a result we decided to get down at Udhampur a city some 40 odd km from Katra.
