... satellite dish we have was pinched off the roof from next door at Bolan Street, Bulimba, I suspect we have the wrong LNB. We will fix it when we get to Rockhampton.

Another chore that needed doing to the bus was to get the rear fibre glass bumper repaired. The one I reversed into a power pole at Surat way back in April. Lucky enough we found a fibreglass repair shop just around the corner ...

Hervey Bay to Benaraby

... taking a campervan trip! We decided to take a walk down to the riverside. The owner had told us, we have acres of riverside frontage, but don’t go in the flagged-off area as we’ve just spread it with treated effluent (lovely!). Anyhow, we wandered down and I commented on it being prime crocodile country. Tony disagreed, pointing out that the guy on the riverside would not be letting his little girl build sandcastles there if there was any danger ...

Gladstone

Gladstone was supposed to be the base for our trip to the Great Barrier Reef, but sadly the weather finally caught up with us and the seas were too rough to sail. However, all was not lost as our caravan park had a huge jumping pillow which kept Abs amused for hours and Andrew amused for minutes as he was too unfit to jump for any longer than that.....

Rum and Surfing

... Hotel which was lovley and only $79 however Loz had his money saving head on today and thought this was a bit expensive so we ended up at Lyelta Lodge & Motel for $58, lets just say the room was basic and the decor was never going to win any awards but we weren't going to be in it much today. Once this was sorted we went to the Bundaberg Rum Brewery for a tour, this was really interesting but I think the guides had been ...

... a relatively secluded cove where we spent a couple of hours lying in the sun and going in and out of the crystal clear water, spotting lots of little white fish. It was just beautiful, and sooooo relaxing. We also had a look along the main street, Hastings Street, and bought yet more souvenirs (as if we needed them!) and then on to the river where we sat and took in the beautiful views of the boats bobbing on the sparkling water, and saw thousands of tiny fish ...

Scooteroooter

Next stop was Town of 1770 which was braaa! I overcame my fear of mopeds after the Ko Paghnan fiasco by going on the Scooteroo tour. About 30 folk all chugging around the town on mini Harleys - I was uber nervous but managed fine - RARE! Did have to get helped up a hill at the end tho as my dodgy bike wouldn't get me up there - fatty! Got very very buckled one night on the ...

A Series of Unfortunate Events

... watching movie after movie whilst eating dirty Kanga Bangers. On the Saturday morning we awoke with still no news from the garage, the owners of the motel were excellent and helped us to find some budget accommodation in town, although everywhere was fully booked. They also rang the garage to try and speed them up with the repairs. They let us spend the day by the pool whilst we waited for news. Steve was growing impatient and by 3 we walked ...

Cool Bananas

... Won the Korean and Steve the Englishman..our first night we just hung out, had the dinner Binky cooked for the hostel and chatted at the firepit until the 1am Brazil/Ghana game. June 28th (Happy 24th bday Jason and June 27th was Michael's 26th!) we were soooo lazy we couldn't make it for the 1030am free tour of the town so we just ended up going to the beach for awhile where Benny and Ryan played frisbee and us girlies lay down and did what we do best ...

The home of Australian rum

Next stop was Bundaberg, the home of Bundaberg Rum which is Australia's biggest brand of rum. Andy and I went for a tour around the distillery which was pretty interesting (if you like that kind of thing). We probably only went cos we knew we'd get free drinks at the end of it. They only sell their liquer in the shop there and it's sooo nice it was hard to resist spending all our ...

UNLUCKY SPURS!!!

... d all been to uni, so had LOTS to tell). Was an amazing few hours all cramped up in the van with these 3 girls and 2 lads, and was followed by an Eros/Destiny type playlist at the club. On our way home on our 3rd night, me paul, and this half greek half jewish legend from Hampstead we met started talking to a busker. Armed with the buskers guitar, the jew/greek boy's singing, and me and pauls' young enthusiasm, within 10 minutes we had a full ...
