Gladstone was supposed to be the base for our trip to the Great Barrier Reef, but sadly the weather finally caught up with us and the seas were too rough to sail. However, all was not lost as our caravan park had a huge jumping pillow which kept Abs amused for hours and Andrew amused for minutes as he was too unfit to jump for any longer than that.....

... a relatively secluded cove where we spent a couple of hours lying in the sun and going in and out of the crystal clear water, spotting lots of little white fish. It was just beautiful, and sooooo relaxing. We also had a look along the main street, Hastings Street, and bought yet more souvenirs (as if we needed them!) and then on to the river where we sat and took in the beautiful views of the boats bobbing on the sparkling water, and saw thousands of tiny fish ...

Next stop was Town of 1770 which was braaa! I overcame my fear of mopeds after the Ko Paghnan fiasco by going on the Scooteroo tour.
