... blue water for a full day it was time to leave so we retraced our steps North this time stopping at Bend for the night. Bend is a nice leafy town, very organic - vegan embracing (even the kids menus had vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options). Main event was finding a kids' hairdresser for Cameron to have a haircut which went down a treat.

... we decided to reverse the trip route and ride over Mckenzie Pass to Sisters instead. This was a big deal because the pass from the west is much steeper than from the east. We climbed for over 4 hrs. Much of it soaked because of the the 100% humidity, and the last 1.5 hrs. it actually rained on us. It stopped before the summit! Yeah! ... getting worse and worse with lots of red sand and grit......after still more climbing I finally saw Bill by the side at the top and it had been blowing head winds for the last hour, so I said this is enough.
