    ... the entrance to which happens to be in Dawn and Nigel's cabin) and noticed that we were on the verge of a fire - the engine batteries bursting into flames. They were scorching hot and one was bowed on one side. It transpired that the whole boat could have blown to ballistic bits. At the risk of skinning his hands from hot battery, he hurriedly disconnected and removed the batteries and shoved them up on deck. Captain Bob is a hero..... Dawn and Nigel decamped to the spare ...

    ... being can have three positions on a paddle board - lying, kneeling and (much more difficult) standing. The next hour was filled with hilarity as those who had not yet mastered standing attempted to become proficient. We then had a competition - girls versus boys - to see if all four could.. A.     ... we were all messing about in the water soon after we arrived and Kalista careered back towards some rocks. Hells bells.... Luckily skipper Bob as well as Nigel were on the boat and managed to get the engine on, the anchor up, re-anchor..... anchor up, re-anchor, anchor up...and re-anchor. Finally it held. Dawn and Simone were swimming just behind the boat, getting a bit of a fright, viewing the operation from the vicinity of sea level and paddling ...

    ... so maybe I'm not such a Greek driver after all! When we arrived in Kastraki Deb was pointing out all the places she remembered from her visit 12 years ago but she was astounded at how much it had grown, no doubt she will tell about that in her story. We looked at a few places, one of the places we thought looked nice and wanted to look at had a sign on the door "Dear Guests I am at the Taverna 40 metres down the road".. how funny is ...
