    ... We thought we only had to worry about walking a mile to the beach, and the plan was to just chill on the beach and then grab a ride back to the first parking lot. But at the last moment our ride fell through and we had to cover the 12ish miles that we had completed over the last three days in one afternoon �� Somehow we made it back though, and at least I have a somewhat better idea of what not to do for the next trip ...

    ... than the Manhattan chowder. It was a little chilly outside in the gazebo, so after we'd eaten, it was back to our room for a coffee and another glass of wine, before the kids left after 11pm ! I didn't realize how late it was ! It worked out really well getting the food as "take out" because it's easier with the kids, and also we could drink our own wine without corkage - and no tips involved ! Bonus ...

    ... at the motorhome and went to dinner at the Shadowbrook Restaurant in Capitola Beach. It was a lovely dinner. This place sits on a creek and has a gondola car that takes you down there.     The pilots; clearly right out of flight school, were younger and more relaxed than the retired controllers. They were happy to explain to me the different knobs and levers inside the cockpit (or in this case, computer screen) and even urged me to pursue a career of my own in becoming a pilot.
