... to park in). We eventually found where we needed to be and headed up the pier for a look-see. Santa Cruz had a lovely feel about it. We bought the obligatory souvenir pennies and fridge magnet and Evan also bought a cap to replace the one he has left behind somewhere. We saw some more seals and were able to get within a couple of metres of them. This was the highlight for Tilda. As we were walking back to the car we noticed there was some filming going on on the beach below ...

Woke up early again; 7am. I had to tip toe around Ross trying not to fall on him because he moved his mattress on the floor last night because he didn't want to have the bed creaking all night keeping him up! I wrote my blogs whilst I waited for him to wake up; then we had showers and got our stuff together because it was time to check out of winsor hotel ready for LA. ... week was that day, so we switched all our plans around and decided to do the bridge. First though...washing was required! Found a good laundromat and hauled our bags up the hill the set it going. Since we had a while we went and found a little place to have a coffee, Sweet Woodrush, which was lovely, then headed back to dry our clothes (such a novelty, since we don't have a dryer!!). After putting our stuff away, we found a bus to Fort Mason and ...

Today is the very last day of my 50s. Yes, tomorrow I turn 60. And the next day, we leave for India! I have distinctly mixed feelings about this trip. It's scary! When I first asked Ashwin what we should see if we went to India, he replied "Don't go to India. It's not very nice."  But 30 seconds later, he said "… but if you do go, you need to go to Rajasthan. You need to see the traditional cities and the desert and the tiger preserve, and the ...
