Awoke to a lovely morning, a bonus after the disappointing weather yesterday. We sat around a big table with the other guests and were looked after very well by our host. Lovely fruit and breads etc. for breakfast. Our host's advice was to take the costal walk from Palm Cove up to a Light House on the cliff so we departed and made our way there. We …

Another fine day. There is a free ferry service called the City Hopper which goes up and down the river zig zagging from one side to the other. We got on at Eagle Street Pier, headed up stream and got off at South Bank. This area has lovely parklands with a promenade, lots of cafes and a man-made beach equipped with life guard! This area was …

We got off at Mount Coot-tha reserve which has a lookout over the city. We decided to do one of the 'short' bush walks to the Slaughter …

A pretty dull day with showers. This was a good opportunity to go to the City Hall museum. This building was just re opened in April after a major face lift. The Museum concentrates on the development of Brisbane with particular emphasis on the role of the river. There is also a large section on the importance that Expo 88 played in the …

Today is our last full day in Brisbane, this week has gone so fast, so we are meeting up with Marie Therese and Rick later today to have lunch and say our goodbyes! As we are getting our hire car tomorrow, I am going to buy a sat nav, the car rental people told me they do not rent them on one way journeys and to buy a Sat nav would properly cost as …
