Nice resort. Diving center is nice. Diving spots are in top 3 over the world. Nice view, and lovely laguna.

... Tonight is our last formal night—we’ve gotten some good photos (yes Julie, one for your wall). Everyone has given us advice as how to drive in Oz, where to go in Oz, and generally what we should do. Unfortunately we’ll only have 9 days. We’ll just kind of go with the flow. Looks like the most interesting thing will be driving out of Sydney. One chap made ...
Bora Bora, Society Islands, French Polynesia marwilt... relaxing, or trying to get the internet connected. Frustrating!! Back to the pool, sometimes inside the solarium, to not burn, and Bill snacks on his daily ice cream. Around 5 or so we head back to our room to ready ourselves for the evening activities. We are late seating for dinner at 8:30 so beforehand we usually gather for live music in the centrum, then a show in the main theater. These have been very ...
Bora Bora, Society Islands, French Polynesia marwilt... reading this blog the opportunity to take my work from me for free. It is so easy to screen capture or download almost any image from the WEB, so a slide show allows me to share my work in a way that is interesting yet produces small quality screen captures. Forgive me for this, I hope that you will choose to still enjoy the slide show photo presentation format.
... the pool.
It was really nice out. Not TOO hot, nice breeze, beautiful day to stay on the ship and enjoy the outside decks. I lounged in the water for about 2 hours. Just when the prunes on my fingers started to annoy I came in to get ready for dinner.
I love it here in the South Pacific, I can see why movies and musicals have been made about it!
Sandy beaches, grass huts on stilts overlooking green and blue tropical waters...what's not to love here in French Polynesia.
I have uploaded a video slide show of the sights of the day. To view the video in a larger size, click on the small video icon in the blog post until it opens up in a larger window.
I hope you enjoy it!

... the beautiful turquoise waters around the Moorea bay. The views were great especially those of the Bali Hai mountain, made famous featuring in the movie 'South Pacific'. The best bit however was yet to come; we anchored outside of the bay, donned snorkels and masks and jumped in to be greeted by a whole load of stingray. Our captain fed them and they were so incredibly tame we were able to feed them, stroke them, in fact; they were climbing all over ...
Bora Bora, Society Islands, French Polynesia mrandmrsjocky... treated ourselves to a dinner and Tahitian show, where to Morgan's amusement I was picked out of the crowd to perform in a "dance off". I was proud that I was able to move Morgan to tears with my performance and it was a great way to cap off the last night of our trip. It has been an amazing adventure and spending ten days in French Polynesia was a perfect way to end the trip.
Bora Bora, Society Islands, French Polynesia jamemorg... anchored, about a dozen large manta rays glided by beneath us. What a stunning sight! We were soon in the water swimming around these gentle, inquisitive creatures. They swam up to me several times and hovered around for a bit, long enough to allow me to run my hands across their backs. OMG factor: 10+++. The largest mantas had wingspans of more than two meters with tails of about the same length. This was definitely one of my most amazing experiences so ...
Bora Bora, Society Islands, French Polynesia velvetescape... while, had lunch and then a relaxing afternoon before cocktails. Could we get used to this? Maybe, but our feeling is that whilst this is enjoyable for a few days relaxation, we need something to occupy us and we're not yet ready for a long, beach type holiday. Everything is relative and I appreciate that this may not be the feeling of our friends suffering the current English weather. Once again, it makes us feel so lucky to be doing this trip. Our final, relaxed dinner was in the ...
