As we approached Exit 18, I got butterflies in my stomach and my pulse began to race. Poughkeepsie was only about 20 minutes from the NY Thruway and I envisioned seeing my friends and reuniting with them, even if it was for only a few minutes. We stopped at a ...

A travel blog entry by heavenonearth on Oct 08, 2014

This was a very nice little town on the border on Connecticut and New York. It was so noce we almost stayed for the winter. The problem was that it was down in a valley so getting out of the valley with icy roads would have been a problem. During the summer there was the Houstonic River that ran along side the town. This place was beautiful during the fall. Also saw Bull's Covered Bridge. Too bad they did not have a campground ...

Like the Hoodoo Gurus sing I am "Waking up Tired", I am jetlagged and running on adrelian.

The morning packup and breakfast all go well. I load the car, start the engine and notice the safety deposit key on the car keyring. Yep I was about to drive away with $1000 still in the hotel. First lesson of the day - clear the safety deposit box before you leave.

I fill up the car with gas, here you pay before you use the pumps, and then I venture on to ...
