      ... rushed ....self imposed.....so punched in the first museum I saw in Caen into the gps...off I went....bada boom bada bing...I was at the Castle of Caen....k not a D-Day museum.....but was really cool....wandering around castles is fun. Hard to believe that this city was pulverized while being liberated.... and it wasn't really very far from the beaches but it took the Allies 6 weeks to get here...

      So off I went a wandering...inside the castle ...

      ... color. I can't imagine the strength and the courage it took to climb the beaches and storm the Atlantic Wall. The sand does not offer much traction and the men were sitting sucks on the beaches for a long time. The ride began to turn into low tide and the beach grew even longer.
