Last night was spent in Le Havre, in once again a free camping spot. It is remarkable but they are everywhere in France. If you want to pay for a real caravan park then you will need to wait until March/April before they are open, so anywho we bunked down for the night after arriving mid afternoon. the TomTom took us into a low ceiling height tunnel, even though
there were other signs for the direction we were heading in. It must
have saved us some time however and we rolled into Le Havre very
early, parked up and had time to visit a few bars before choosing a
restaurant where we had great cheap steaks. Later, we were shown
straight onto the ferry and found the one and only bar. It was a
bare bones Brittany ship ...
... rushed ....self imposed.....so punched in the first museum I saw in Caen into the gps...off I went....bada boom bada bing...I was at the Castle of Caen....k not a D-Day museum.....but was really cool....wandering around castles is fun. Hard to believe that this city was pulverized while being liberated.... and it wasn't really very far from the beaches but it took the Allies 6 weeks to get here...
