    ... the guns still intact and went to the American cemetery overlooking Omaha beach. We also went to the artificial harbour built at Arromanches which had to be seen to be believed.     ... area. It was serenely quiet which is quite a contrast from the mournful and constant calls of the seagulls at Juno Beach.     ... good, but looked funny.
    After lunch, we stopped at the Omaha Beach Memorial Museum. It had some large dioramas of the Normandy landings and some artillery pieces and a Sherman tank.

    ... rushed ....self imposed.....so punched in the first museum I saw in Caen into the gps...off I went....bada boom bada bing...I was at the Castle of Caen....k not a D-Day museum.....but was really cool....wandering around castles is fun. Hard to believe that this city was pulverized while being liberated.... and it wasn't really very far from the beaches but it took the Allies 6 weeks to get here...

    So off I went a wandering...inside the castle ...
