First I have to say that I travelled first class from
Barcelona to Toulouse. It was pretty cool, nice big leather chairs, radio and
then later they played a movie. Gemma, Hector and I got there fairly late,
between 9:30 and 10:00. Dana and her friend Theresa (who is also doing this
program) met us at the train station and we found a bite to eat. We “got to”
watch T.V. that night for a bit and get a taste of what French television is
      like. We ...

... I had never travelled so far north in Europe before. We booked our flights fairly impulsively, ready to let adventure lead the way. And so it did...

Our first battle came with transportation upon arrival. Should we stay in Stavanger for the entire week? Should we take a ferry and visit Denmark along the way? Or should we take a train to another city? We finally decided on an overnight train to Oslo, giving us the opportunity to see the ...

When I got back to the hotel, I got a call from David, my host and teacher for the next week, and he is picking me up earlier tomorrow, so that I can have lunch in Gramont and settle into my home for the next few days. I don't know what the wifi connection will be like In such a small village, so if you don't hear from me, don't worry. I'll update the blog when I arrive in Paris on ...

... our destination of Cauterets mid afternoon, which meant it was very quiet with very little open. We managed to find a lovely hotel and then walked a short distance we sat to have a drink and enjoy the view of the mountains. We took a walk along the edge of part of the town, beside the fast flowing river. We had a very enjoyable evening, having a pre-dinner drink at a bar where the owner spoke English and animatedly described places for us to visit. We then found a simple restaurant ...

... I really wasn't expecting much, but I was impressed by the show. It was long and varied with a lot of different songs and impressive fireworks that reflected off the water. The finale was quite fun.

We walked back toward the hotel, ready for dinner. Of course, that meant we were stuck with McDo. We both had hamburgers and small iced teas. The iced teas (2.30 Eu ea) cost more than the hamburgers (2 Eu ea). Is that strange to anyone else?
