... find anything to watch and ended up watching the news
but it was still neat to watch French television and see how much we
      understood.

We had a pretty calm day in Toulouse, just went for a walk
around the town, took pics, saw some churches, had a picnic and then went to
      the movie theatre.

Toulouse is a university city. The Uni is just next to the
downtown area, so there were tons of students my age around. Our picnic in the
      park was great, we ...

... At first it seemed the universe did not want us on this train...both of our credit cards were denied by the Norwegian train site, our banks started alerting us about fraudulent charges, my Mom immediately started calling me to make sure me and my wallet were still safe and well, too many long hold times with the bank's customer service number, it seemed it would never end! Finally it all worked out; Hannah was able to book our tickets with a backup ...

I have finally arrived in France, and am completely overwhelmed! I think because I have been looking forward to this for so long and now it is finally here, it is like it really isn't happening. Hard to believe I only have three weeks to go. Anyway, the weather is exactly how I thought it would be - sunny and warm it was actually a bit of a shock yesterday getting off the plane into the warm weather. I got to my hotel and it's clean and comfortable, with a lovely firm bed, but I still ...

... dinner. I had duck with vegetables and Rob has the famous dish, cassolet, (casserole of pork and fava beans). We returned to the bar as we wanted to give the owner a small gift from Australia. There were now quite a few locals in there so we had conversations with others, including a retired chef. Of course there were more drinks involved, including some complimentary ones poured by the owner! Next day we continued our travels in the Pyrenees, with the task of delivering a gift to a ...

... I really wasn't expecting much, but I was impressed by the show. It was long and varied with a lot of different songs and impressive fireworks that reflected off the water. The finale was quite fun.

We walked back toward the hotel, ready for dinner. Of course, that meant we were stuck with McDo. We both had hamburgers and small iced teas. The iced teas (2.30 Eu ea) cost more than the hamburgers (2 Eu ea). Is that strange to anyone else?
