... was that it was going to be a hard time to find anything that would interest us. But, being the shoppers that we are, we went in and out of many stores. We checked in quickly and began the two hour wait for our flight, in the overcrowded terminal. They've tried to make more space, which is desperately needed, by taking out more and more of the duty free shops. My old favorites are now gone; the remaining shops are small and lean. The flight left on time at 13:15 and was not completely full which was pleasant.

After Dubai we had five great days at sea with temperatures of 30 and only dropping back to 27 at night with glassy seas and light winds. We did not need to put our pirate drill into action. We saw a few container ships and a few freighters but no military activity except for being buzzed by a P3 Orion aircraft leaving the Straights of Hormuz but could not identify its nationality as with all good military aircraft it came out of the sun, but probably US or at least NATO.
