We had a lazy day around the campsite yesterday walking down to lake Jaunay in the morning and then swimming in the afternoon. The weather was a sunny 24 degrees. Forty two Of us enjoyed a Rally Meal at the Auberge by the lake in the evening which involved a two mile return walk down the hill to the lake. Yesterday we left St Jean de Luz and drove 240 miles to Chataillon Plage near La Rochelle where we stayed the night on a pleasant Campsite near the beach. The temperature was a warm and sunny 23 degrees. We enjoyed a pleasant walk along the beach which was covered with many oyster shells, followed by a swim in the pool before going to bed. ... its bay are part of the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. It was amazing on the outside, very simple but beautiful on the inside. After our visit, we headed to Rennes and caught a train to Paris. (There is a much more stressful truth to this part involving more bad decisions on a travel day, poor French signage, and long lines at Europcar but I'll omit it here... So back to the book and plan C or D by now to find another nice aire at Prefailles, on the outside of a campsite which meant we could use their showers and toilets, goodoh. Again quite full but we found a space and after some lunch went for a walk around the area, all countrified and not much else.
