Today we traveled to Biel to BBZ, Berufs Bildungs Zentrum, to study their math and science programs.  It was very interesting!! We learned some great information about physics (if you can learn anything interesting about that!).  Students here go to school until 9th grade and then either go to another preparatory school that will lead them to their chosen career field or go to the school to learn a trade.  The school we visited, BBZ, is focused on engineering and all ...

Now they try to enforce a 150 meters distance between vehicles. We arrived in Biel to a nice reception and a lot of memories. After the city tour, we headed back to our hotel at hotel Luzernerhof. Apparently, this hotel is a 4-star hotel but I dare say that a 2 star hotel in Asia matches that standard. Why? First of all, ...

We arrived at our B&B in Bern quite late in the evening and the owner had gone out. He left a note on the door to tell us that he had left the door of the flat unlocked and open so that we could settle in and unpack. Nice to be able to do this without the worry ...

We parked at the Park & Ride outside of Bern which charged less than the parkades in town and gave us a free ride to and from the train station. We arrived at the huge train station, picked up a map of the area and set off on a walking tour. All the walking tours we do are self-guided which is a good thing because otherwise we would be chasing after the tour group all the time. Rick Steves has tons of tours in his book and many of the bigger ...
