Pl. Dominikanski 1 Wroclaw, Western Poland, Poland, 50-159, 48-71-3232700
It is bright and early here in Wroclaw, Poland. We drove our Ford Fiesta from Dresden, Germany to Wroclaw yesterday arriving at about 1:30pm. I got the Fiesta up to 170km/hr on the Autobahn! We immediately noticed that Poland is a lesser-developed country. Many of the buildings along this drive were very run down. There were large apartment buildings, some ten stories high, that seemed to crop up out of nowhere. They were concrete and each flat was painted with a different bright color. I hav...

What is the one thing that builds up the coldness in Finns - lack of sauna, I tell ya!!
Tonight I finally managed to get myself to take a bus for 5 mins and go check out the Wroclaw Aquapark, and especially the sauna section there. Last weekend I had a Mexican pre-Xmas party with some of the Finnish ladies living in Wroclaw, and heard some very good comments about the saunas in the Aquapark. Now, I hate to admit this, but I've been living here for over half a year now but guess I ...
It is a late start given the nightclubs until 3:30 AM. I wake with Miller's cold. Yuck! My original plan had been to a day trip to another medieval town, Poznan, 2.5 hours by train. I’ll do it tomorrow. With all the students in town, the energy level has elevated an order of magnitude.

We booked the flights!!!! We'll be taking a train to Prague and then flying to New Delhi via Istanbul on 26th February 2010. I can't even imagine first 6,5h in train and then 2,5+6h in the plane, gosh... I think I'll run out off my jokes and Aneta off her sense of humour well before getting there :-D
Neither of us had dared to request holidays for the ...
... dishes and Len makes the bed. We are sitting outside and the mosquitoes come out. There are lots of them. This is the worst we have seen. I sit in the mini and work on the computer. Len sits outside and reads, but soon does his teeth and comes in. We have a huge netting screen for the door and it works just great.
They must have had lots of rain here too. The Polish beer was good. Tomorrow we will try the local food.
During my first week in Wroclaw, I stayed in a hostel right in the centre of city. Nathan's Villa turned out to be the best place to crash in after a night out and the worst when trying to get some sleep before the alarm went off on a work morning... located next to the big circle road, all the bloody noise from the traffic came to the room. Since coming here alone, I wanted to share the room with others purely for meeting other ...
Wroclaw, Western Poland, Poland enniaa... other way than to walk, fast. Maybe there would've been a bus going to my direction, but I didn't wanna take the risk and lose even more time. I hoped my appointment time was flexible, atleast it was given for a range of a half an hour so maybe it meant I could arrive at any time within that 30 mins.... Yeah right, I got there finally exactly at 9.30 and was told the next free appointment was at 8am tomorrow.
Well, I got the new time and the girl at ...
Wrocław (Breslau), often called 'Poland's Venice', has got by far the nicest Medieval-like Old Town that one might possibly imagine. It is surrounded by canals and rivers snaking across 12 islands on which it is built, and it has got over 157 bridges. It's also got old post-German trams operating on the cobbled streets of the city, and its urban architecture consisting of short and dumpy tenement ...
Wroclaw, Western Poland, Poland translucent... all absolutely delicious. Despite the deliciousness of the food, there is an innate problem one will encounter when being a guest in an Eastern European or Slavic person's home. They will feed you and feed you until you feel like you will burst, and then they will feed you again. They try extremely hard to be a good host, and in Eastern European eyes presenting a guest with unlimited food is the way to be that sought after good host even if they may be ...
Wroclaw, Western Poland, Poland durnadupa... in anger as he passed and not even an offer of help. The words that came from Karen were not French and I wont repeat them. Back to our story... We took an overnight train to Luxembourg where we spent the next week touring through the country (it takes about 40 minutes to go from top to bottom). A lot of world war 2 history as the battle of the Bulge was fought here with the victory going to General Patton and his tanks. The people are very "different" in ...
