ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilman... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city IŽd love to visit once a year minimum.....
Nice, Provence, France tilmanIt is Sunday and very wet and miserable here in Antibes. Quite a change from the glorious day we had yesterday. Ideal for computer work in fact... (Except that then things didn't pan out as planned and it is now Monday)
It wasn't my intention to have an entry before my departure but the response to my initial circular has been so overwhelming that I feel it merited an ...
... about a dog... Toilet time It is amazing how toilet dramas/stories are always a hot topic of conversation amongst travelers. I feel a little empty this time round as we have averted the problem as we have a Thetford cassette Porta Potti. Called "Theo"... We started out thinking would only use him in emergency situations but with the scarcity of public loos in France and more so in Italy means he is getting a lot more use than first planned. These loos are easy to empty and ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74On this morning we left Switzerland and travelled south into Italy en-route to the French Riviera. The scenery was pretty spectacular, with snow-white capped, jagged mountains that seemed to swallow the highway. Surreal!
When we arrived at our hotel we had about 30 mins to get ready for our trip into Monaco! On our drive to Monaco we crossed the bridge that Grace Kelly was killed on in a car accident. The roads are ...
... towels...ahhh it was wonderful. We even had a towel warmer in the bathroom and a separate toilet!!!! Also a mini fridge and a tv which had a whopping two english speaking channels, so we were finally able to watch the news...
Our hotel also had a day spa section. We decided to cap off our extravagant weekend with some more splurge, a 1hr massage each! It also included half an hour to use the jacuzzi and steam room. It hurt the bank account, but it was worth every penny! By ...
... of Jardin Medicin and scoped out the Nicetoile shopping center..looked at shoes, looked at dresses and I tried on a few things. We ran across Brooke and Gerrad at fountain and kept going in our direction...and wandered our way to the beach. On the way more shops were visited, nothing quite right was found..we stumbled on a market along a street which sold flowers, olives and patisserie products which looked nice and fresh. Eventually we walked back past the ...
Nice, Provence, France jasndan... like lavender & we had our fair share of eat all you can mussels. I was lucky enough to spend 6 days in this beautiful place with my husband & 20 month old son. From Nice, we took the train going to nearby towns of Monaco, Cannes, and St. Tropez which all had their own distinct charm.
Nice, Provence, France kathrynjill... Nice we went to the beach, walked up to a look out point and explored the city. The water and the beach in Nice is gorgeous. The water is relatively warm and it is the prettiest shade of blue. Brandon loved swimming in the water! At the lookout point we got to see the beautiful coastline. Nice is unique because there are all of these beautiful old buildings lining its coast and we loved that. Then we walked around and ...
Nice, Provence, France peter148... with a watch though. Lots of watches at very reasonable prices. I found a lovely necklace the lady showed a sign saying 5 Euro, but it was 50, so I decided against it. Then it was off to the pasta shop to find some Ravioli. Not cheap, but lots to choose from. Between 19 and 25 Euro per KG. Next we had to find some fresh Sage. First we had to figure out what is was in French, 'Sauge' and how to pronounce it. They did seem to ...
