... shining, we made our way back down the mountain. We had good timing leaving too. The sun was beginning to set as we were walking along the highway - so not good timing to have a driver be blinded by the sun and then need to dodge pedestrians walking along the side. But alas, we made it to the car safely!

... be some sort of festival at nearby La Turbie. We can't get a park anywhere and aren't prepared to do the local thing - just pull up anywhere, even double parking close to a corner where there is also an unbroken centre line - no worries, just put your hazard lights on! There's a procession of men dressed in gold tunics and helmets so some roman re-enactment. We drive right down to Nice for more of these spectacular views but don't want a traffic ...

It was called Parfumerie Fragonard.There was a free half hour tour but our timing wasn't good as we didn't want to wait half a day to go in so we just went to the gift shop.
