    The only reason I came to Fontainebleau was to walk in the forest (to get a break from the city rush) and to get closer to the Loire Valley, where I will be getting on a cruise! Anyways, today I walked to the forest and hiked for eight hours, then returned to my hotel. Initially, I had wanted to go horseback riding on the trail, but I was not disappointed with the hike. I'm more of an outdoor person, so it was refreshing to take a breath of free ...

    ... There are lots of rugby players here from England and America - men & women's teams and just now a coach of Asian (Chinese I think), followed by another coach of Indians - it's feeling quite international! I think they must be doing Euro Disney (not the rugby players) as I over heard.... Tomorrow we'll head to Normandy and find a place to stay - ferry perhaps Sunday or Monday, we'll see...... Bon ...

    ... came to operate it and it looked quite new. He is appalled that their government does not make it compulsory that all boats should use their holding tanks. John pointed out that his was the only working station in France that we have found. Which comes first the horse or cart?

    ... it is tricky to get big items down the stairs. There were no dramas getting on the train this time. Everyone managed to get onto the train in good time. However, we had not been given good instructions about how to find the car place on foot and exited the barriers thinking we could walk from the station to the place.     Streets around the town are lined with stone walls and gates. In the very old parts of town houses open directly onto the streets.
