... low being unemployed, so using the free rail travel seemed rather semsible even if there are not many trains to choose from!

We need not have bothered planning a day out as on our first day in Brittany, on a shopping trip to the local Super U, we stumbled across a stash of the flavoured cognac at lower prices that expected. Even though it was just past 10.00 in the morning we sneaked to the checkout clutching ...

We prepared a lunch for our guests and had the great good fortune to enjoy our meal outside where we chatted sipped wine, and indulged in oysters, grilled monkfish with a silky Beurre Blanc sauce courtesy of Picard, salad, a lovely Pays Basque cheese and a raspberry tart prepared by yours truly.
We left our guests with coq au vin for dinner and 3 lettuce salad- arugula, butter and lambs, ...

... a struggle. Lovely place - booked through airbnb an 19 century building now converted into many flats, ours is. Round too which would have been the main reception room. Great use of space, with a loft type sleeping area, with kitchen and bathroom. Underneath. French doors on the windows, and original parquet floor. Very light and airy. headed out for a quick look around lovely old buildings, cafés and bars.
