I really wasn't winning Paul over at all! So off we went again, retracing our steps, back through the centre of St Malo and on to our third aire of the day. We found the aire in the pretty village of Rotheneuf, it was a small ...

      ... crashing overhead.
After yet another stormy night, with fork lightning that lit us up like a pair of negatives inside the Burkemobil , we headed for Portugal. The sun was shining as we crossed the border and heading for the west coast, we followed the river Douro much quieter now than at the height of the season, when we’d struggled past juggernauts on the tricky bends. A more pleasant journey, we were able to appreciate the vast, hilly ...

Moving on from Brittany we headed East into Normandy and to an area very much on the beaten path – the Mont St Michel. Brittany and Normandy still disagree over which region Mont St Michel belongs to, and you could see why they would fight over it. Despite the abbey being an iconic image when conjuring up images of France, the mont had never really been on my must see list either. However it really is a magnificent sight.
