We left St Avit Loisirs dead on 10am check out time, and got to our overnight stop over at 7pm. Ok J was driving and it poured with rain and we mixed toll roads with A roads and we didn't have directions to the hotel BUT STILL! I think the French tourist bureau is massaging the mileage figures - the country is huge. The booking was for two …

We used the last one to connect our clear pipe to our blue pipe to reach a tap, so we need to replace that. And Sue gave us rillettes d'oel and I wanted to get some to take with us. Loire Valley Our trip up north from Carcassonne to Tours in the Loire Valley went well. It took us nearly the whole day - three trains but we made it! Tours is an old town and the main entrance town to the Loire Valley. We had dinner in the old city area with some cool looking buildings. We stayed in a small hotel over night (the first of our trip). It was two adjoining rooms and two bathrooms and very basic. We were all happy that we had been staying ...

We had been told about this Aire when we were in Forges Les Eaux and it is truly lovely. It was only 56 miles away but we just had to see this. As we were staying off the Peages, we had looked at the roads we wanted to travel on. For once, this did not work out quite right when we got to La Fleche as we could not find our road out the other side of the town! Nothing daunted, I headed into a Tabac with map ...
