        Loyalty rewarded

Great stop over using loyalty points. Enjoyed the swimming pool and views from our room over Roebuck Bay. Secure parking for our vehicle and camper trailer was a bonus. Easy walk into town and cafes / restaurants.

This stop over was a great way to break our camping trip to the Pilbara region.

The change of time zone has thrown us and we were up early this morning as dawn broke over our campsite. High-level clouds filled much of the sky as we rose, but these burnt away as the sun took effect. It seemed as though those around us were more in sync with the time zone, as we appeared to be the first up and about. We finished breakfast, …

I was expecting to be undertaking turtle monitoring by this time but sadly it appears that won't be happening this year as Bonnie the coordinator has moved on and hasn't been replaced and unless another agency takes over, although the turtles of course will still arrive and lay their eggs, no records will be kept which is a little sad. I will remain ever vigilant keeping an ...

... a way to hide his dog Oscar in his paintings! We promptly went looking for Oscar in all the paintings. We also met the real Oscar who was casually sitting on the table guarding the cash register! We picked up some beer to bring on the tour and headed back. I hung around here for a bit, caught up on my book and got myself organized for tomorrow. This evening I went to the open air cinema! It was a lovely experience to sit in lounge chairs while ...

... one grilled and one fried. This morning we had bacon and egg roll/sandwich and capuccino for $25 all up. Just as well we are leaving today because apparently there's going to be 100 motor cyclists there today. Imagine it will be even noisier at Whim Creek pub tonight.

At 6.42 am received a text from Mick saying, "Megan wonders why you haven't rung her". I was surprised she'd be up at 8.45 am Melbourne time but I rang. She said, bit early Kath. ...

... 8217;s off the bitumen down a sandy 4wd track brings you to a pumice stone set of rocks which as you crest them leads to a stunning beach with no one else around. If you’ve ever been to Little Waterloo Beach or Squeaky Beach down the Prom, it was even more blindingly white than those two put together. The white sand makes the aqua water a brilliant blue like on the postcards that you buy for the Whitsundays. After we had all had our fill of swimming and the girls had played in ...
