Jaxon and Liv were very excited to find that we are staying at a caravan park in Broome and it has a great swimming pool. We have a few days in Broome to get the car serviced, get the air con working in the van and sort a few other things out...like catching up on my blog while we have good internet. Liv has been desperate to have a camel ride on Cable Beach so we did that on day one. Lots of fun  getting up on those camels and the bumpy way they stand ...

Liv woke for her birthday at Pardoo Station where I cooked up pancakes for brekky before driving to the top end of 80 mile beach to another cattle station to spend the next few days. The flight was approximately 1.5 hrs to fly over the Horizontal Falls in King Sound in behind the Buccaneers Archipelago. These waters have the second highest tides at 10-13 meters in ...

Driving around China town included seeing the old picture theatre (very reminiscent of Rotto) as well as the Roebuck Pub, oldest in Aus to continuously trade since 1890 and many old heritage style Broome houses, old pearlers style, of double –storey with clever shutters to draw in the breeze and keep out the ...

    Goldwire Free Camp

... when staying at free roadside camps. While there are usually amenities and a flat space to park your rig, there's usually not much else, so the later you get there the better. Mind you, this approach probably would not have worked in the peak of the dry season, with so many nomads on the road vying for space at free camps. However, it suited us and allowed us a free night's accommodation as we made our way down the west ...
