Great stop over using loyalty points. Enjoyed the swimming pool and views from our room over Roebuck Bay. Secure parking for our vehicle and camper trailer was a bonus. Easy walk into town and cafes / restaurants.

This stop over was a great way to break our camping trip to the Pilbara region.

Today we just drove around and aclimitised ourselves to the area as well as the heat,
We drove to the famous Cable Beach, and at 9.30 the beach was already starting to fill up.

Drove to Gantheame Point to check out the dinasours footprints but the tide was in so missed that, if we have time will go back.We passed a sign on the side …

        Blog Broome

Broome is somewhere that neither Tim or I had been before and given that my friendly travel agent at Austravel had arranged our entire holiday around a tour in Broome we were really excited. Because I won the people category of Wanderlust, the holiday was based around me being able to do a photo commission based on people of …

The change of time zone has thrown us and we were up early this morning as dawn broke over our campsite. High-level clouds filled much of the sky as we rose, but these burnt away as the sun took effect. It seemed as though those around us were more in sync with the time zone, as we appeared to be the first up and about. We finished breakfast, …

        ... some longer haul trips.

I was expecting to be undertaking turtle monitoring by this time but sadly it appears that won't be happening this year as Bonnie the coordinator has moved on and hasn't been replaced and unless another agency takes over, although the turtles of course will still arrive and lay their eggs, no records will be kept which is a little sad. I will remain ever vigilant keeping an ...

... a way to hide his dog Oscar in his paintings! We promptly went looking for Oscar in all the paintings. We also met the real Oscar who was casually sitting on the table guarding the cash register! We picked up some beer to bring on the tour and headed back. I hung around here for a bit, caught up on my book and got myself organized for tomorrow. This evening I went to the open air cinema! It was a lovely experience to sit in lounge chairs while ...
