Another hot day, on the road by 6am to try and beat some of the heat. A short day today only just over 300km into Mt Isa.
Arrived and bought some yummy fresh bread and jam donuts from Brumby's.
Booked into Discovery CP for $38, they didn't charge for the girls.
Set up, had lunch and then a refreshing swim. ...

Last night about 10pm we woke up to thunder and lightning with heavy RAIN but it only lasted about an hour and today you can not see even where was wet. It is 9am and the temp is 32 with a high of 37 a little cooler from yesterday's 43. Tomorrow we head off again but not sure how far we will travel as we only have 900ks to go before we get to Townsville. Since leaving on the 20th October we have travelled ...

... mine faces in previous decades. Her eyes popped out of her head at the power and sound of the huge pneumatic drill ripping into the rock face! For anyone with an interest in mining and the mysteries of life underground, we can really recommend this experience if you are in Mt Isa.

We didn't stay in Mt Isa on this occasion. After out tour, it was off to the supermarket to stock up before a long trek west into the Northern Territory and our next stop at the Barkly Homestead. ...

... go through to Mt Isa (making it a bit over 600km for the day). No worries, certainly better than sitting and looking at each other in the heat, dust and flies. Along the way we all pulled in at camooweal for fuel and who did we see?...........stalker dudes! they intended on staying the night and then on the next day to Mt Isa.. they Off we all rattled to rock up to Mt Isa at about ten to have...........oh, no don't tell me something might interfere with happy hour. Again ...
